Engineering roles where the
architecture is still open.
We hire people who want to own a system, not a ticket queue. Every engineer here has design authority over something real, and the on-call pager that comes with it.

Why Deplyra
What we actually offer,
without the fruit bowl.
Transparent salary bands
Every level has a published range and we open at the midpoint. No negotiation penalty for being the person who does not enjoy negotiating.
£3,000 learning budget
Per person, per year, no approval chain under £500. Conference tickets, certifications and the time to use them.
Design authority, not tickets
Engineers own systems. If you are the person on call for it, you are the person who decides how it is built.
Employee owned
Every permanent employee holds equity after twelve months. There is no outside investor to satisfy at your expense.
Recovery after on-call
If you carry the pager for a week, you get two days back. Recovery is scheduled, not offered.
Real remote, real hubs
Work from home, from a hub, or split it. Two paid trips a year to meet the team you work with in person.
Engineering standards
The bar, written down.
We publish our internal engineering standards to candidates before interview, because you should know what you are being measured against before you are measured against it.
Read the engineering handbookCode review
Two approvals on anything touching money or personal data. Reviews are for design, not formatting; a linter does formatting.
Test coverage
Above 85% on critical paths, enforced in the pipeline. A pull request that lowers coverage does not merge.
On-call
One week in six at most, never alone, and always with the person who wrote the system reachable as second line.
Documentation
A system without a runbook is not done. We treat that as part of the definition of done, not as a follow-up ticket.
Post-incident review
Blameless, written, and published internally within five working days. We keep the ones that embarrass us.
Open roles
Four roles open
right now.
How hiring works
Four steps. Two weeks.
No take-home you do unpaid.
01
Application review
A person reads it, within three working days. You get a written answer either way, including why.
02
Conversation
Forty five minutes with the hiring engineer about what you have built and what you want to build next.
03
Paid technical day
A real problem from our backlog, paid at your day rate. You keep the work whether or not we make an offer.
04
Team and offer
Meet the people you would work with, then a written offer at the band midpoint within two working days.
Nothing open that fits you?
Send us what you have built and what you want to work on. We keep a real pipeline, and we come back to it when a role opens.
