CiteRight: see the overlap, cite it properly

CiteRight reads your own writing and shows you, sentence by sentence, where it overlaps with published sources. It then formats the references properly in APA 7, MLA 9 or Harvard, so the fix is one tap away from the finding.

It is built as a mirror, not a judge. The app shows you what to review and never accuses: an overlap is a highlighted sentence with its likely source, and what you do with it is your decision.

AndroidiOSWriting and citation

What it does

Built for one job, done properly.

Sentence-level overlap view

Every flagged sentence is shown next to the source it overlaps with, so you can judge the match yourself instead of trusting a percentage.

APA 7, MLA 9 and Harvard

References formatted to the current editions of the three styles students are actually asked for.

Rewrite suggestions

Where a sentence leans too hard on a source, CiteRight suggests a rewrite you can accept, edit or ignore.

Cite from a photo

Point the camera at a title page and get a formatted reference, instead of typing the details in by hand.

Where it stands

Built for Android and iOS and in pre-release testing. Not yet available in the app stores; when it ships, the store links will appear on this page.

Rules this app keeps

Promises written into the build.

CiteRight shows you what to review. It never labels your work as plagiarism, because that judgement belongs to you and your institution.

Your writing is processed to produce your result and is not used to train AI models.
