What we collect

Your email address, to sign you in.

The text and files you choose to check, to run the similarity check.

Extracted text from sources you scan with your camera — the photo itself is processed on your device (on-device OCR); only the extracted text is sent to us.

Your subscription status, and basic usage and crash diagnostics.

How we use it

To check your writing for overlap with public sources, build citations, manage your subscription, keep the app working, and fix crashes.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your content to train AI models beyond what is needed to generate your result in the moment.

Where it goes

Text you check is sent over HTTPS to our processing service (the Deplyra gateway) and, for the similarity check, to the source-matching providers needed to find overlapping text. It is used to produce your result, not retained for advertising.

CiteRight shows ads (Google AdMob) on the free tier. AdMob may process device and usage data under its own privacy policy to serve and measure ads.

Your choices

You can delete your account and its data at any time from Settings → Delete account. For any other privacy request, contact [email protected].

Children

CiteRight is intended for users 13 and older. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
