Delete Your Account

Effective 18 August 2026

What Delete account actually does

1. Open Rooftree and sign in.

2. Go to Settings.

3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Your name, email address and credentials are cleared from your account row and every session is signed out. You will not be able to sign in again.

What it does not do, and cannot

It does not delete the tenancy record. Every entry, payment, repair, photograph, certificate date and message stays exactly where it is, still readable by the other party, attributed to a departed account.

This is not an oversight. Rooftree is an append-only record and its database refuses to change or remove a ledger row, including for us. That is what makes the record worth anything in a dispute, and it is also the honest limit of what deletion can mean here.

Closing a tenancy stops new entries being added. It removes nothing.

If that is not acceptable to you

Email [email protected] and describe the situation. We will tell you what we are able to do rather than promise an erasure the database will refuse. If you are a tenant who was never invited to the record, say so and we will tell you what is held.
